Well… once you get over Anastasia Steele - the world’s most irritating protagonist, the repetitive langauge and not-so-hot sex scenes, the fact that E. L. James really should have just stuck to writing fanfiction, and Ana’s constant reference to her “inner goddess” and “subconscious”, it’s… tolerable.
The only thing I can vouch for, and this is grasping at straws, is Christian Grey - he’s somewhat interesting, even if the tortured soul thing has been done to death.
To be honest, I only read it because I was curious to see how she had changed it from her original fanfiction (which I read), but unfortunately, she hasn’t really changed it all.
I don’t think I’ll be reading the second one anytime soon, put it that way.
